FIND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

If you are a member or prospective member seeking volunteer opportunities, here are some ways to start looking.

1. Follow our sport-specific Facebook groups:

2. Reach out to someone on the committee for a particular event

  • Go to the Shows & Seminars  page of our website and look for trials/tests offered by SOTC. Some of the events listed on that page are offered by other clubs to whom we are renting our building; ignore those. Those events need helpers too, but volunteering there won’t help you meet SOTC membership requirements.
  • Click on the link for the event premium. In any premium there should be contact info for someone you can volunteer your services to. Your best bet is the person identified as the “chief ring steward” or “worker coordinator”. The next best bet would be the “trial chair.” Please don’t contact the person identified as the “trial secretary.”
  • Tell your contact that you are a non-member seeking volunteer opportunities. Give them your full name and contact info. Tell them what your availability would be for that particular event (e.g. “Saturday only,” “mornings only”) and what experience if any you have working at events like this one.
  • Whatever the sport, offers to help with setup and teardown are especially welcome!

3. Check the Help-Wanted Listings

We are experimenting with ways of posting specific Help Wanted listings.  The newest version is here (and is a work in progress).
