Class Schedule, Winter 2022

(classes starting mid-January, ending early/mid-March)

When can you register?

It's complicated

It depends on who you are and what kind of class it is.

  • Registration opens first for SOTC members, next for non-member current students (those who have taken a class with us within the last two sessions), and finally for non-member new students (those who have never taken a class with us, or have not done so within the last two sessions).

  • For non-members, registration for Puppy, Pre-Basic, and Basic opens first; registration for other classes opens later.

  • For Puppy, Pre-Basic, and Basic, current students may register ahead of new students by means of a time-limited permission code. The code expires the day registration open for new students.

  • Permission codes are also required for any non-member to register for any class other than Puppy, Pre-Basic, or Basic. Codes are made available to current students first, new students later.

Opening dates for winter registration

For Puppy, Pre-Basic, or Basic, registration opens on:

  • December 14 for SOTC members

  • December 17 for non-member current students (with permission code available around December 13)

  • December 24 for non-member new students (no permission code required)

For any other class, registration opens on:

  • December 14 for SOTC members

The students will be polled to see what areas they most want help with, but ring entrances and heeling will definitely be on the top of the list. We will also consider the reasons why dogs lose their focus while working or why they are unable to attain focus from the time they come ringside (or even before). In a nutshell, we will work to train focus cues to our dogs as well as work to help them overcome the reasons for their seeming inability to focus.  Limit 6.
